Prescription medication is something that you normally have to go to a pharmacy to collect, and if you’re seriously ill or incapacitated — it can be quite a nuisance. The days of standing in line and waiting for a prescription may be nearing an end — as CVS and UPS has delivered prescription medications by drone. UPS announced the FCC’s approval of the drone program in October.
It’s not just about convenience, though (or one’s ability to get to a pharmacy). People need their medication urgently (especially elderly people and children that have a harder time getting around on their own). Drones can deliver medication in a matter of minutes (in some cases), and without traffic-related delays. The deliveries took place on November 1.
