The 2012 X-Games are to be held between January 26 and 29 in Aspen, Colorado, United States.

Climate of Aspen, Colorado
Due to the fact that weather varies considerably throughout the winter season, I decided to write about the month that is most relevant to you in this case, and that is January. January is the most frigid month of the year in Aspen and therefore, requires the most extensive cold weather preparation. In Aspen, the temperature in January does not exceed 0.6 °C (33 °F), but it does not drop below -13.7 °C (7 F, 259 K). [Source] There are exceptions to this rule: Temperatures can (although not likely) exceed the range mentioned above. 
As for snow: January has an average total of 25 inches (2.08 feet) of snowfall which is the greatest of all months. January’s snow depth of 20 inches, however, is not the greatest, but is second to that of February which is 23 inches. [Source] ESPN provides schedule information here.

If you need to know the distance that you would have to travel using whichever route you please, visit Google Maps, then click “Get Directions”, then follow their instructions. If you are driving to your destination, then you can easily determine how much it would cost you while factoring in the necessary variables on the fuel efficiency page.
