How do you avoid slow traffic, the cost of bridges, dedicated railways for trains, and use less fuel? A straddle bus, of course!
The idea of a straddle bus has been around for years. However, one has now been demonstrated in Qinhuangdao, Hebei. The spacious concept avoids slow traffic and drives over it. It’s official name is the Transit Elevated Bus, and it can seat 1,400 people.

It’s a clever way to utilize the same roads, and implement electric buses which don’t rely on batteries. While I cannot confirm that whether this implementation of the straddle bus utilizes batteries, I can say that it is likely to lead to more batteryless electric transportation options in the future.
