Fortrum, a Finnish utility company expects approaching storms to cause power disruptions in Finland early on Thursday.
It is a band of thunderstorms that is headed for southern and southwestern Finland.
“We have doubled our field resources for tonight. Were monitoring how the situation develops. Well shift those who are working on building and maintaining our electrical network into damage repair if needed,” Fortum operations manager Jörgen Dahlqvist told Yle. Previously scheduled maintenance work may have to be postponed, he adds.
The storms already caused flooding in Sweden, including Småland.
