Troubleshooting: CPU doesn’t support long mode

If you are trying to start OPNsense in VirtualBox or another virtual machine and it says ‘CPU doesn’t support long mode’, that means that it is running in 32-bit mode. You can resolve this by recreating the virtual machine and ensuring that the VM is set to 64 bits. In the case of VirtualBox that would be the version setting ‘Other/Unknown (64-bit)’.
