Having fog lights on your vehicle is a great way to break through the fog and be able to see. However, in some of these lights you will find that it is going to be important that you know how to understand and adjust your LED fog lights to guarantee you are able to see properly and know which way you are going to be going and not be blinding yourself. The problem is not many people know how to adjust these lights and this often leads to them either having the lights that are going to be super bright or so dim they cannot see, well that is about to change here as people will get a firm understanding of why the adjustments are so important to make.

Why You Need To Make The Adjustments

When you are looking at the lights you may think that everything is fine, until you get into a very thick fog bank and then you are trying to figure out what exactly you are going to be doing and how you can see. This is when you will find that it is going to be invaluable for you to know more about why you would need to make these adjustments and that is what will be covered here.

The adjustment that is going to be the easiest will be the changing of the bulbs. While these bulbs do last for a long period of time, they are not indestructible and this often means that over time they will start to have some issues. Since this is the case, you will want to know about the fact that you can change out the bulbs if you need to and this would be considered an adjustment. Sometimes it could be an adjustment to make the lights a little bit dimmer, but at other times you may need to increase the brightness and this can be done by changing the bulbs to a different wattage bulb than what you were expecting it to be.

Another type of adjustment you may have to make would be getting the lights direction moved. While you may think this is going to be something that is easy, you need to realize it is going to be a very slight adjustment so you will have to make sure you are keeping track of the adjustment you are making and how much of an adjustment you are making. This way you are able to move it back if you need to. So this will help you in getting to have the adjustment done and know it will actually help you in getting to enjoy the move that you have made because it move the lights ever so slightly.

Types Of LED Fog Light Adjustments

The main type that you may have to concern yourself with that would be considered a true adjustment would be to move these lights. This method is actually very easy to do and it is one that you will find fun to do even at times. That is because you will have to get the screws loosened up and make some minor changes to the lights direction. Then you are able to get the light directed in the manner you want to have it directed and know it will allow you to have the vision you want to have and have the lights pointed to where they will not be blocking the fog right back into your eyes with a nasty glare.

How To Make Some Minor Adjustments To The Lights

As mentioned above the first method is going to be to loosen up the screws that are holding the light in place. In some of the lights, you will find this is going to be something you have to do to get the light bulbs replaced already. If this is the case, then you may want to play it safe and replace the bulb at the same time if the vehicle is older or if you have been using the fog lights on a regular basis. If the light are aftermarket and you are mounting them to your vehicle, then here are some simple directions that will make it easy.

The first thing that you need to do is find a good mounting spot for the Diodedynamics fog lights. Typically this would be in the grill or under the headlights. However, some people have been creative with these and mounted them under the bumper. No matter what, it is important to find the proper mounting location for the lights to guarantee they are going to be mounted right.

Now to adjust the beams you will need a flat wall that comes up from a 25-foot stretch of pavement and is going to try to be a white or pale color. This will make it easier for you to find the adjustments you need to have. You should also have a tape measure so you can mark of the 25 foot mark exactly.

The next part is to take the tape measure to create a straight line from the center of the fog lights and make a red dot on the wall. Once you do this, you will want to adjust the fog lights to the point they are going to be four inches below the red dot. This way the fog lights will go under the fog and allow you to see the roadway, but at the same time the downward point will keep the light from reflecting in your eyes or even worse in the eyes of oncoming drivers.

Being able to know more about fog lights and understand why you need to adjust these properly is a good thing. However, a lot of people are not sure why they would need to make the adjustments or even worse the types of adjustments to make. Then the other issue is people did not know, until now, how to make the adjustments to keep the lights out of the eyes of the oncoming drivers.
