    Windows Update Breaks Some VPN Connections

    A recent Windows update (April 2024 security update KB5036893) is preventing some VPNs from establishing connections. The update affects Windows 10, Windows 11, and several versions of Windows Server ranging from 2008 to 2022.

    There isn’t currently a patch available for this VPN bug. However, Microsoft says it will provide a fix in an upcoming update. If you use a VPN and haven’t yet installed this update, you may want to wait until the corrective update is released. This applies especially if you are using a public Wi-Fi network, which poses serious security risks.
