Organic Maps is a mobile app available for both iOS and Android. Its policy is to not collect nor sell users’ location history.
Users of mobile map apps have long had to contend with invasive tracking policies. Desktop users, on the other hand have OpenStreetMap — an open community project.
Organic Maps makes the detailed information from OpenStreetMap available on phones so that you can get turn-by-turn directions, downloadable maps, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, among other typical map features in a privacy-friendly manner. 100% of the features in Organic Maps work offline. However, you will have to download the maps first.
Organic Maps also provides ways to contribute to OpenStreetMap by identifying places and helping to correct errors. It also touts relatively low battery usage.
The search feature in this app helps you to find places near you using your own location coordinates.
