The Facebook Messenger companion app for Apple Watches will be discontinued on May 31. The app allowed customers to browse through chats, reply to and react to Facebook messages on their Apple Watches.
Some users are unhappy with the change (including myself) because we used it to reply to messages when our phones were not in hand. However, other users are unaffected because they didn’t use their watches for that. Typing on a watch isn’t easy.
Fortunately, Watch users will still get notifications, which is very useful. Notification previews can show message contents as well.
