Security vulnerabilities in Apple devices can now be patched in between full operating system (OS) updates so that they can be deployed quickly. These are called ‘Rapid Security Response’ updates, and you won’t have to wait for the next OS update to get them.
This is especially useful if there are high-severity vulnerabilities being actively exploited because they need to be patched as soon as possible. The new type of update is available for iPhones, iPads and Macs.
To install this feature, check your iPhone, iPad, or Mac for ‘Rapid Security Response’ update under Settings > General > Software Update.
